Critic of COVID vaccine policies now overseeing vaccines, gene therapies, and blood supply management
United States: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Dr. Vinay Prasad as the director of its Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research but he holds a history of FDA leadership and COVID-19 mandate criticism, as reported by USA Today.
A Notable Critic of COVID-19 Vaccine Policies
Prasad has emerged as a rigorous critic of governmental vaccine policies throughout the COVID-19 crisis to direct oversight over multiple drug categories, including vaccines and gene therapies, along with blood supply management. Dr. Peter Marks served as the division leader for 13 years before Dr. Vinay Prasad took his position at Operation Warp Speed to distribute vaccines during the pandemic.
The FDA commissioner, Marty Makary, revealed the appointment through official staff communication and social media channels.
“Dr. Prasad brings the kind of scientific rigor, independence, and transparency we need at CBER — a significant step forward,” Makary said.
A long-time COVID vaccine critic
Prasad wrote in his Substack platform blog that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention needs to remove COVID-19 from its Childhood Immunization schedule completely. The continued presence of COVID-19 vaccines on the childhood vaccination schedule indicates the United States has become a corrupt nation, according to Prasad.

“The only ‘emergency’ America still faces with COVID-19 is that regulators like Peter Marks are either incompetent or corrupt to authorize a booster without clinical, randomized data,” he said.
Prasad’s Criticism of Former FDA Leader Peter Marks
Following Mark’s resignation earlier this year, Prasad launched harsh criticisms of his predecessor by describing him as a “mediocre academic” and “one of the most dangerous, pro-pharma regulators of the 21st century.”
According to Reuters, Prasad joined the FDA following his role at the University of California, San Francisco. He received his medical degree from the University of Chicago before working at the National Cancer Institute and the National Institutes of Health, as reported by USA Today.
